The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is currently seeking professionals for the following positions:


Project Director – DOL Program: Serves as primary focal point for HACU with the Department of Labor and HACU-member institutions on workforce development initiatives. Plans, directs and coordinates all activities relating to the workforce development grant requirements to ensure goals are accomplished. Responsible for organizing, coordinating and conducting workshops, conferences and meetings, reviewing project proposals, coordinating project activities with HSI networking groups or teams and DOL, preparing progress and financial reports for submission to DOL, and insuring budget and contract compliance.. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with working knowledge of higher education administration within the community of HSIs, federal grants, regulations and contract procedures. Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision, basic word processing and database skills, and effective communication (oral, written) and presentation skills. Spanish language proficiency preferred. (Located in San Antonio, TX)

Associate Director – Welfare-To-Work Program (CALIFORNIA):
Under the direction of the Project Director, provide leadership, direction and assistance to the field program operators by interpreting and communicating federal contract compliance requirements, reviewing program performance against established plan, and providing assistance with strategic and operational planning, program design, organization and staffing, management information , internal assessment of system and processes, financial management, grant administration and development of plans. Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or Business Administration with background both in federally funded programs (JTPA, WTW) and training in vocational education training design or related field. Experience working with a project team and as a team leader. Marketing/public presentation skills a plus. Must be able to travel occasionally. Must have excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and proficiency with computers.

Associate Director of Finance – Welfare-To-Work Program: Assist the Director of Grants and Contracts comply with the fiscal requirements of this grant by preparing grant invoices and monitoring billing status, preparing general ledger journal entries, analyzing actual versus budgeted monthly revenue and expenses, preparing fiscal reports required by grant, monitoring pass-through funding to subcontractors, ensuring compliance, preparing annual program budget, audit schedules and meeting with funding representatives when necessary. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and three years experience in related capacity. Computer literate, familiarities with federal acquisition regulations, ability to interact with senior level government officials and effectively present information and answer questions. Ability to apply the basic principles of general and governmental accounting. (Located in San Antonio, TX)

Receptionist:
Function as first point of contact in the reception area greeting visitors, answering multi-line telephone, directing calls, and providing clerical support as part of the secretarial pool. High School graduate or equivalent with 1 – 2 years clerical experience or training. Spanish language proficiency required. Experience with Microsoft Word preferred.
